At the risk of jumping in where wuannted, it seems to me after reading everything at once that the main point SC was trying to make in her criticism of Isis' original post was not that Isis was making an in-group post, but that she did so and then immediately (in comment 14) criticized her readers for not getting it. SC's point, as I see it, was that Isis can't have it both ways; you can't make an in-joke and then complain that people don't get it. Either explain it right off, or realize that many people will comment in a way that misses the point.And then everyone jumped on SC for it, even after SC's first comment was to explain in a more detailed way exactly how to avoid the she's the brown person descriptor.And then it started to get really funny about SC's white male privilege, with Isis making the very same assumptions and category errors that she was accusing SC and everyone else who didn't get it of.
